Project Manager, Oxford

Hours: 8.30am – 5.00pm (Monday – Friday)

Primary job purpose

To directly manage customer relationships and engineering resource, and to work closely with all areas of the business to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and with quality.

Job structure

The position will report directly to the Branch Director. The successful candidate will be be enthusiastic, dynamic and have the ambition to represent the Company to the highest of standards.

Key activities

  • Managing a range of projects from inception to deployment and post-deployment support
  • Problem solving engineer/client issues that may arise efficiently as they occur
  • Managing engineering resource as it is assigned to each project
  • Ensuring Method Statements and Risk Assessments are completed before project commencement
  • Ensuring all Health & Safety requirements are met to provide a safe environment for engineers to work
  • Developing project plans and account managing each customer to ensure works are completed within timescales specified
  • Providing technical support where required
  • Assisting customers in designing and specifying fire and security systems
  • Attending weekly project meetings and producing appropriate valuation reports
  • Maintaining project files containing all relevant documentation including project plans, O&M manuals
  • Ensuring good communication between clients, sales and engineering departments
  • Representing the company at corporate events.
 

Skills and experience

  • Minimum 2 years experience in Security Engineering
  • Working knowledge of the security industry and associated British Standards
  • Excellent communcation and interpersonal skills, able to deal with people at all levels and remaining calm and approachable under pressure 
  • Competent in Microsoft Office programmes (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Self-motivated with a “can do” attitude and flexible approach
  • Excellent organisational skills, taking pride in meeting objectives and paying close attention to detail
  • Previous project management experience would be advantageous 
 

Training

Full training relevant to the job will be provided, depending on the candidate’s specific requirements and experience. Training will be provided both in-house and through external sources if required.
