Perimeter Security And Perimeter Protection

Install perimeter protection to secure your property’s boundaries against intruders

Perimeter security offers a first line of defence against intruders, raising the alarm whenever your property's boundary is compromised and giving you a greater sense of security and privacy.

What is perimeter protection?

Perimeter protection can encompass a variety of physical or electronic measures, including specialist motion detectors. These use infra-red beams of light to create an invisible fence around your property. When the beam of light is broken and the duration of the break or size of the object which breaks the beam falls within preset levels, an alarm signal is triggered.

Simple perimeter detectors send out a single beam of infra-red light (passive infra-red sensors). More sophisticated perimeter detectors send pulsed beams of infrared light between a transmitter and a receiver (active infra-red sensors) and often incorporate multiple light transmitters to create a net of infra-red beams.

Both passive infra-red and active infra-red sensors can be integrated with surveillance equipment relaying the position at which the beam has been interrupted and enabling CCTV cameras to be instantly trained on the location of the perimeter breach.
