Training talent responsibly

Three new apprentices join the Chris Lewis team

We're always on the look out for people to join our ever growing team and were thrilled to have received over 40 applicants for our Apprenticeship Programme from which we have recruited 3 new apprentice engineers and one IT apprentice.

Although the growing skills gap in British industry has clear implications for the government and for publicly funded training, we firmly believe that business owners need to sit up and take some responsibility for meeting training needs. That's why we're so keen on promoting and developing our Advanced Modern Apprenticeship Programme and are pleased to welcome Kyle Spiers, Aaron Surman, Chris Fujak and Ashley Keenan to the team.

Our apprenticeship programme includes an integrated programme of vocational training, work based skill development and appropriate vocational education.

Ben Bockett has been on our engineering apprentice scheme since 2004 and is looking forward to qualifying as a security engineer with us, "It's great, I'm learning and doing so much more than I thought I would. Every day's different. We spend one day a week at college and when we report back on the jobs we've been involved in during the week, the other apprentices in the class can't believe it."

Chris Lewis commented, "We take great pride in the knowledge and capabilities of our talented team - and what better way to retain that quality, than by encouraging them to pass their skills on. With our continuous stream of apprentices, I'm satisfied that we're developing a workforce with the skills and values that our company needs for a successful future."
