Four Chris Lewis Fire & Security apprentice installers are celebrating a fantastic result at the security industry's Apprentice Skills Challenge.
This year marked the 10th anniversary of the national competition, which saw two teams of apprentices from our Oxford branch compete against 42 other apprentice installers to achieve a highly commendable 2nd and 3rd place overall.
The Apprentice Skills Challenge is an annual competition that is held at the NEC Birmingham as part of IFSEC (the International Fire and Security Exhibition and Conference). This year's grueling event was designed to test a wider variety of skills and knowledge than in previous years. The contestants were not only required to take a written test on European standards, but also critically assess a previously installed intruder alarm, re-commission the system to PD6662 EN standards, and then add additional protection to the system.
The result places these four Chris Lewis Fire & Security apprentices within the top five in the country.
