Esporta Oxford, the squash team which Chris Lewis Fire & Security has sponsored for the past four years, achieved a momentous victory earlier this week. Their 3-2 win over Benz-Bavarian Duffield has taken them into the semi-finals of the world’s most prestigious squash league for the first time in the team’s history.
In the dramatic tenth and final round of the Premier Squash League (PSL), Dutchman Dylan Bennett celebrated his first outing of the season for Esporta Oxford by winning the decider against his opponent in straight games. Oxford’s match success put them on 146 points for the season – just one point ahead of fellow semi-final Group A qualifiers MB Nottingham, the 1999 champions.
The semi-finals on Tuesday 6 April will see Esporta Oxford host Group B runners up and fellow first-time semi-finalists, TWP St George's Hill, while Group B winners, Surrey Health & Racquets, entertain MB Nottingham. The PSL final will be held on Tuesday 4 May.
Team Manager, Jason Martin, commented, “We’re extremely grateful to Chris Lewis Fire & Security for their continuous support over the past four years. This is a tremendous achievement for the club and testament to the commitment of our players, staff and sponsors.”
There are a limited number of guest places available at the semi-final match which will be held at The Oxfordshire Health & Racquets Club. Anyone interested in attending should contact Caroline Graham on 01865 782444 or email c.graham@chrislewisfs.co.uk.
