Oxford ark project secured

Intruder alarm installed at construction site for centrepiece of Oxford's summer art and science festival

Chris Lewis Fire & Security has just installed an intruder alarm at The Old Book Binders in Green Street, Oxford, the recently acquired headquarters for an arts-based project being run by CIAO! (the Children's International Arts Organisation).

Over the next six weeks Oxford-based CIAO! will be using the site to construct a giant ark which will eventually go on display outside Oxford's Museum of Natural History as the centrepiece of a five-day summer art and science festival from 23rd - 27th June. The ark will be a public art installation designed to showcase the visual and performing arts created by children from ten Oxfordshire schools who have been asked, ‘If you were sailing away on an Ark to a low carbon future, what would you take with you and what would you leave behind?’.

Event Director, Ian Nolan, who approached Chris Lewis Fire & Security's Oxford office to install the security system after having been let down by another alarm installer, commented, "We really appreciate the support that Chris Lewis Fire & Security has given us with this fantastic community project. Our insurance required us to have an alarm fitted before we moved in to the property and they really pulled out all the stops to get the security system up and running in the nick of time!"
