Chris Lewis Fire & Security enjoyed fantastic success at the 2010 Security Excellence Awards at London's Park Lane Hilton last night, picking up two of the security industry's flagship awards.
The company was recognised for leading the industry in the use of IT - winning the award for 'IT Initiative of the Year'. Not only was it the second time that the company has received this prestigious award, having previously won it in 2006, it was also the seventh successive year that Chris Lewis Fire & Security has been shortlisted for the prize.
Chris Lewis, Managing Director, commented, "We obviously impressed the judges in the way we have evolved our integration capabilities beyond fire and security systems to deliver much smarter solutions for our clients. We understand that customers want simple management and control that they can access from anywhere, but we are adding further value by using security to drive energy-saving and improve resource management."
The company's other award went to two of the company's apprentice engineers, Daniel Boyes and Mike Barnett, who were awarded first place in the Apprentice Skills Challenge, each collecting £500 prize money. The pair had competed against apprentices from around the UK in May at IFSEC (the International Fire and Security Exhibition and Conference), and successfully used their skills and knowledge to secure top position.
Chris Lewis added, "I'm delighted for Mike and Dan. They thoroughly deserve this win. We invest heavily in the training and personal development of our workforce and our apprenticeship programme is key to ensuring that we have a steady stream of well-trained, highly-skilled engineers moving up through the company. They both worked hard to prepare for the competition and are a shining example to our new intake of apprentices, which this year includes our first female apprentice engineer."
These two latest awards add to an impressive array of industry accolades.
