The Fire & Rescue Service, like the Police, get called to an increasing number of false alarms, and have taken remedial action against this by introducing the CFOA Policy.
In order to maintain a high level of service from Fire Service, and not to jeopardise the safety of a building's occupants in the event of a real fire, remote monitored fire alarms (RMFAs) must now be registered with the Fire & Rescue Service and receive a Unique Reference Number (URN), as with the Police and monitored intruder alarms. This will help the Fire & Rescue Servicemonitor the performance of fire alarm systems, and an unacceptably high number of false alarms may result in a reduced response, or even withdrawn completely.
Chris Lewis Fire & Security will install fire alarm products that ensure you comply with the recommendations, and can give you advice on any aspect of your fire or security system - just give us a call.
